The J’aime Lire Collection
At the beginning of Grade 3, when French Immersion students start to read independently in their new language, you must introduce them to the J’aime Lire Collection. From what I have seen over the last fifteen years, they will soon be hooked.
All of the J’aime Lire are chapter books which combine just the right amount of text with colorful illustrations so that children are excited, and unconsciously begin to use the strategies they have learned that aid in comprehension.
Students continually ask for these books and always seem enthralled by them. New titles are added every year. The story topics are universally attractive and work well with all kinds of students.
Because there are so many titles available, I have not summarized any of the stories. I have, instead, categorized them by theme. The book titles and covers are quite intriguing, too. I have never gone wrong when ordering from this collection.
